Elden Ring Boss Preparation Checklist

A practical Elden Ring boss preparation checklist for gear, survivability, damage plan, resources and learning attempts.

Before the first serious attempt

Boss preparation should reduce avoidable failures so your attempts teach you the fight instead of exposing basic setup problems.

Check your core setup

  • Your main weapon or casting tool is the one you intend to use.
  • Your equipment load supports the movement style you want.
  • Your healing and other consumable resources are ready.
  • Your quick-access items are arranged so you do not search menus during combat.

Know your damage plan

Decide how you expect to create safe damage windows. A vague plan encourages panic attacks at the wrong time. A simple plan makes it easier to recognize when the boss gives you an opening.

Use early attempts for information

Your first attempts do not need to be winning attempts. Learn attack ranges, delayed timings, phase changes and which actions leave the boss vulnerable.

Change one thing at a time

If a setup is failing, avoid changing weapon, armor, strategy and consumables all at once. Change one variable so you can tell whether it improved the fight.

Stop when attempts become sloppy

Repeated attempts are useful only while you are still learning. If reactions and decisions are getting worse, reset your focus before continuing.
